Chazaiya – My Turn to Inhale
My Turn to Inhale was on released February 2, 2021 by Chazaiya. The album comprised of 20 sweet, digestible songs that barely broke the two minute mark.
What makes My Turn to Inhale from enjoyable than other similarly less-inventive hip-hop mixtapes is its exuberant range and marvellous personality. The album is dusty and dark, yet simultaneously sharp and vibrant. Unfortunately, there’s no unique vocal performance, just samples from (presumably) Biggie, Wacka Wacka Flame and Danny Brown. To its benefit, the versions on this album sound distinct from their originals. Furthermore, to the artist’s benefit, the album flows miraculously. Sadly, there’s filler; a lot of its instrumentals offer nothing but looped material before they abruptly end. The album is comprised almost entirely of tracks like this; suffice to say, it gets stale relatively quick.
My Turn to Inhale is one of the most enjoyable mixtapes I’ve heard recently. Though while it’s consistently enjoyable to listen to, it's difficult to recommend over more inventive works of late. To anyone that doesn’t mind listening to the same shit over and over, you’ll find something plenty of value here. To the fringe minority who care for innovation over all, look elsewhere.
