Auumgn – Out of Phase
Auumgn is an experimental noise-rock composer from Visaginas, Lithuania. Very little is known about the artist, which is a shame, because his debut, Out of Phase, is spectacular.
The dreamy abrasive walls of sound are grounded heavily by EDM, though the soundscapes borrow heavily from shoegaze; resulting in an immaculate combination of warmth and colour. Unlike the band Sweet Trip, Auumgn does not constraint himself to the limitations of EDM; beats are rarely heard in Out of Phase’s arrangements. Each and every track is distinct and well expanded upon. Obfuscate is impeccable; as is the delirious chaotic atmospheres of Absent Days. Drums dominate the immaculate, tense chambers of drone and rock during Algal Vision. Picking a favourite is difficult.
There’s very little to fault with Auumgn Out Of Phase; if only it was longer. Perhaps Auumgn should focus on building his/her online profile, as the artist’s presence is lacklustre. One can only hope that Out Of Phase is not a mixtape to be forgotten with time, but the start of a fluent career.
