John Deaf - Thin Thread EP
John Deaf is an American Producer and Rapper from New York, New York. Equiped with an exquisite flow, he’s one of the strongest rappers in the underground scene. Incorporating elements of glitch, hyperpop and modern day electronica, Deaf breathes fresh life into the modern rap game.
Bedroom Rapper's Delight (prod. PAPAENOCH) is surprisingly introspective and vulnerable, stylistically disguised by a crass and care-free delivery. Sly Fox Chica Is too short to break down, but is undeniably fashionable. Much could be said about Wutitdo?, though the overwhelming amount of ideas present in the 1-minute song is incredibly impressive.
Out of John Deaf’s official discrography, including his latest release Narration of Delf Pt. 1, the Thin Thread EP is his greatest output. Unfortunately, it’s disappointingly short. One can only hope Deaf returns to these frantic, experimental soundscapes in future, as opposed to his more recent streamlined direction. A complete album filled with songs of this quality would soar high.
